Our Own Little News Page What Happen in 2007 Coming from California January 1st - 8th Patrick’s II in San Diego, what a way to start the year! New Year’s Eve was a blast and so was the first day or night of the year at Patrick’s. But the fun wasn’t over. After that we headed on to Phoenix Arizona for a couple of nights and finishing off at the Railroad Blues Bar in Alpine Texas. If you have ever been to Alpine, then you know they don’t come much smaller than Alpine. But the folks in Alpine are wonderful people who know how to make one hell of a bottle of homemade Sangria. At least that’s what we remember! John Simoneaux Benefit February 24, 2007 It was another successful benefit in Ruston Louisiana. This great benefit is presented in the name of John Simoneaux who died over a decade ago in a tragic car accident. I never met him but I have heard so many stories about him just from playing this benefit. This benefit raises over $10,000 that goes toward a scholarship fund for students attending Louisiana Tech. Its an all day affair. Bands switch out every 15 to 20 minutes. You’ll hear blues, alternative rock, classic rock, and maybe ever some country. We gladly donate our time to this cause and invite everyone to see it for themselves. They got all the food you can handle, beer, and great live music. We’ve met some pretty incredible people at this benefit. Dan first met Les “Boogieman” Skinner from Mobile Alabama there and he is now one of our best friends. So check it out next year. You won’t be sorry. Oalifornia Dreaming! April 27th - May 10th 2007 Off to California we go via Alpine Texas and the Railroad Blues Bar. You hear horror stories about band members getting sick. Well our bass player, Donald Durham, was so sick he couldn’t play. We had to actually get a guy out of the audience to play bass for us. Chris Somet’n? Thanks Chris! Kings X in El Paso Texas was another blast to play. Those people really like to have fun down there. I think I even got myself a couple of new fans. And it was the Nimbus Brewing Company in Tucson Arizona. Now that was some good dark beer. Thanks Ralph for putting up with us at your house. T-Bone Walker Festival June 15th and 16th What a cool festival in Linden Texas. We were invited to play both days and had a blast. We got to play in front of T-Bone Walker’s daughter. Forgive me I forgot her name. But I do remember that she was a very sweet woman with many compliments for the band. So This Is Rick Reed October and November of 2007 Preserve the blues.
